Notice on cases of illegal distribution of medicinal products in the EU

The Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical devices (HALMED) has received a notice from Spanish competent authorities concerning discovered illegal medicines distribution in Spain that may affect also other EU Member States and third countries. For illegally distributed medicinal products quality, safety and efficacy cannot be granted and therefore these medicines are considered counterfeits.
Spanish wholesalers known by now to be involved in activities of illicit medicinal products distribution (have never been authorised as wholesalers for medicines):

The list of medicines distributed by this wholesalers is not currently available.
All wholesalers are warned to pay special attention at receipt of medicinal products. In case of any suspected counterfeit product, reports should be sent to HALMED by e-mail: krivotvorine@halmed.hr.
HALMED has not received any report to a suspected counterfeit medicine from this supply chain, or quality defect report, or adverse reaction indicating that there might be a counterfeit product. HALMED is continuing to monitor the situation from the close and will make publically available any new information.
